Gazi is the old gas-works, a small industrial town within the city of Athens. The many buildings of the cluster have been declared preservable. In the premises used to be the gas-works, but also many carpenters’ workshops, foundries, all kinds of workshops and surgeries. Today, most of the buildings have been restored and the place, or else the Technopolis, is used all year long as a cultural multiplex.
The Pedion tou Areos, the largest park of the capital, is a true oasis for the city. The residents of the surrounding area swarm by the thousands every day to pace along its walks, to sit on its benches and enjoy the sun, to exercise, to enjoy their coffee… In the area take place many events and concerts, especially when the weather is good.
The Zappeio Megaro, which successes the National Garden.
The Megaro Mousikes in Vasilisses Sophias Str., a modern building with multiple halls, where many crowning events take place all year long.
The Eleftherias Park, next to the Megaro Mousikes, a beautifully formed place with the dominating statue of
Venizelos.
The central market of Athens, a few meters away from the ancient market, which gathers a great many people. It is in Athenas Str. and there you will find everything. A fish, meat and vegetable market… and lots and lots of people.
In Aeolou Str. there are the flower shops with anything your heart desires when it comes to colours and smells.
